The flotation

What is floatation?

Floating is a relaxation technique discovered in the United States in the 1950s by neuroscientist John LILLY who studies the impact of sensory isolation on the brain.

The flotation takes place in a basin of salt water (Epsom salt / MgSO4).

Epsom salt is a powerful stress relief and wellness tool, providing a host of physical and mental benefits.

During a float session you rest in a controlled sensory environment, floating on the surface of a super saturated salt water solution.

This experience is deeply relaxing and rejuvenating for body and mind.

It can reduce harmful stress hormones, relieve pain and tension, and stimulate the release of beneficial endorphins in the brain.

Le Sel d'Epsom

Epsom salt (Magnesium Sulphate), to be differentiated from table salt, is a mixture of magnesium, sulphide, oxygen and water.

Discovered in the 12th century, Epsom salts were traditionally used to "cleanse" the body and relieve digestive disorders.

Epsom salts are obtained from natural minerals, which come from natural deposits, purified and recrystallized.

In contact with water, this salt will release the magnesium and sulphate it contains, which will then be absorbed by the skin.

The benefits of Epsom salt

The high concentration of magnesium and sulfate has many beneficial effects.

Epsom salt helps:

    increase your magnesium intake,

what is important for the proper functioning of the body

(muscular well-being, energy, elimination of toxins,...)

    to promote relaxation

    to facilitate falling asleep

    to relieve stress

    relieve muscle tension and pain

    improve recovery after physical exertion

help the body eliminate excess metabolic waste products (toxins)

    relieve itchy skin

promote the elimination of liquids and help in case of water retention

Weightloss

The minerals contained in Epsom salt will be absorbed by the skin during a flotation session. This triggers a process that helps remove salt from the body, toxins, and fluid buildup that causes fluid retention.

This process is called: reverse osmosis

As part of a search for weight loss, flotation sessions, associated with a balanced diet and the practice of physical activity, can be effective.

There is no miracle !

But it will promote elimination, provided you have a healthy lifestyle!

The scientific research

Floating is a relaxation technique discovered in the United States in the 1950s by neuroscientist John C. LILLY who studies the impact of sensory isolation on the brain.

His theory – that if all stimulation is removed, all external environmental effects are eliminated, the human brain enters a theta state, which directly precedes sleep under normal conditions – has been confirmed.

As a result of his experiments, research into the effects of flotation continued in universities, health centers and hospitals.

This led to the creation of a global organization, IRIS (International REST Investigators Society).

IRIS doctors and researchers regularly publish their results, which form a body of pioneering work in the field of modern medicine.
